HARDI is entering the Chinese Market

30 April 2014
HARDI sprøjterne kvalitets og technologi testet og godkendt

HARDI is a leading global manufacturer of sprayers for plant care and has a turnover of approximately 1.2 billion DKK.  About 95% of the products are sold outside of Denmark through subsidiaries as well as importers.

As a part of HARDI’s market plans, the Chinese market has been a major priority since the end of 2012, mainly due to China’s strong focus on increasing food production and improved food quality.

In order to achieve China’s goals in these areas the current Chinese 5-year plan includes following activities:

  • Significant increase of mechanization in agriculture (more machines per farm)
  • Optimizing the use of pesticides by i.e. using modern pesticide sprayers.

In November 2012, HARDI in established a local Chinese sales and service organization composed of a network of individual dealers who can cover the market and handle the preparations for the approval of HARDI’s products and production facilities.

The aim has been to sell HARDI sprayers with the mandatory CCC approval (China Compulsory Certificate).

HARDI is the first sprayer manufacturer in the world with production outside China who has applied for CCC on trailed sprayers. The CCC approval is required in order to legally sell sprayers in China and a requirement for access to various Chinese subsidies for agricultural machinery.

In mid-December 2013 the sprayers at the HARDI plant in Nørre Alslev, Denmark, were quality and technology tested by 2 test inspectors from China. This resulted in an approval, which was an important step towards final approval and achievement of the CCC approval.

Mid-March 2014 the next crucial step towards the final CCC approval was taken, as a factory inspection of HARDI’s plant in Nørre Alslev was made by two Chinese inspectors from CAMTC (China Agriculture Machinery Test Centre).

As the first sprayer manufacturer outside China, HARDI obtained the compulsory CCC (China Compulsory Certificate) for trailer sprayers on 25 April 2014

With this approval we are ready for the next step of market development in the major Chinese market for plant protection equipment.  We have big expectations for this market in the future.
